istambulmetro.com is an independent guide to the İstanbul Metro. The network has 11 metro lines and 158 stations spanning both the European and Asian sides of the city, linking the two shores through major interchanges such as Yenikapı, Taksim, Levent, Kadıköy and Üsküdar.
The lines are operated by Metro İstanbul (the airport line M11 is run by TCDD Taşımacılık); you pay for every trip with a single İstanbulkart. Here you will find a dedicated page for each line and station, a PDF map, up-to-date timetables, İstanbulkart fares and a handy route planner.

The network is made up of 11 metro lines (M1A/M1B, M2–M9 and M11) and 158 stations. The lines spread across both the European and Asian sides, with interchanges to Marmaray, the tram and the Metrobüs at many points.
A single ride with İstanbulkart costs ₺42.00. Transfers made within 90 minutes get progressively cheaper (the first transfer is ₺31.27). The student fare is ₺20.50 and the unlimited monthly Mavi Kart is ₺3,298. See all fares and İstanbulkart.
The metro generally runs from 06:00 to 00:00. On Friday and Saturday nights some lines run 24 hours as the “Gece Metrosu” (Night Metro). For exact times see the timetable page.
İstanbul Airport (IST) is reached directly by M11 from Gayrettepe (transfer from M2). Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) is served by M4 from Kadıköy. You can plan your trip with the route planner.

The metro lines do not cross the Bosphorus directly; the two sides are linked by Marmaray. Most metro stations connect to Marmaray, the tram and ferry lines.
