The line at a glance
The M1A line serves 18 stations between Yenikapı and Atatürk Havalimanı. M1A is the airport branch of M1, İstanbul Metro’s oldest line. It runs from Yenikapı and Aksaray through the western part of the historic peninsula, then past Otogar through Zeytinburnu, Bakırköy-İncirli, and Yenibosna to Atatürk Havalimanı. Yenikapı connects to M2 and Marmaray.
M1A line stations
The Aksaray–Kocatepe section, opened in 1989, was Turkey’s first modern metro line. Atatürk Havalimanı closed to scheduled flights in 2019; although the station kept its name, today’s active airport connections are on the M11 (İstanbul Havalimanı) and M4 (Sabiha Gökçen) lines.
